                • Basic
                  • Pile up chocolate as neatly as you can.
                  • Earn points by clearing full lines of chocolate. Your score is shown in the upper left corner of the screen.
                  • Every so often, the giant mouth will clear off your chocolate pile. When the mouth comes it eats everthing in its path.
                  • The playing field shows a nice grid design which helps you organize pieces.
                  • The field is 11 units across by 17 units tall, though you can NOT use the top row as the game is over if the chocolate pile hits the top of the screen.
                    • Pieces
                      • The game resembles Tetris but with one major difference. In Tetris and its derivatives, all the pieces are made of four blocks. Not so in this game.
                        • Choco Blocks’ pieces come in both 2, 3, 4, and 5 blocks, arranged in odd shapes.
                        • These new shapes give you a tactical advantage that you wouldn’t have in other Tetris-inspired games.
                        • While some blocks may have 5 pieces in them, no blocks are longer than 4 units, so you can only complete stacks of chocolates as high as 4 blocks.
                        • If you want the pieces to go down faster, select the drop button.
                          • The drop is not instantaneous. In early levels you can return to the regular falling speed without a hitch.
                          • You will spend much of the early game dropping unless you want a piece to fit somewhere tricky.
                          • As you progress through the game pieces fall at a faster rate.
                          • Your next piece is shown in the upper right corner of the game.
                            • The Big Mouth
                              • Every so often, you will encounter the Big Mouth.
                                • Big Mouth first appears when you reach 800 points & periodically at other point levels after you make a line.
                                • Each time, Big Mouth will eat a large chunk of your chocolate pile. This will clear up space in your pile.
                                  • By default the Big Mouth goes down the center of the screen, but you can move Big Mouth left or right much like any other piece.
                                  • You don’t earn points from Big Mouth’s consumption of your pieces.
                                  • Big Mouth eats 6 columns across on his path.
                                  • If Big Mouth misses a block, it will float in mid air.
                                    • This can prove troublesome in the later game, so try not to leave any of those blocks.
                                    • As you clear a pile, it gradually falls back down.
                                    • If you were leaving a spare line for a 4×1 piece on one side of the screen you should have big mouth eat that side of the screen.
                                      • Scoring
                                        • Some Tetris games have a multiplier where larger line counts are worth geometrically more points.
                                          • This game uses a linear scale, where each line made is 200 points no matter if you make 1, 2, 3 or 4 at a time.
                                          • As this game uses a linear scale, there is little incentive to accumulate risk going for longer line sequences.
                                          • One line is worth 200 points.
                                          • Two lines is worth 400 points.
                                          • Three lines is worth 600 points.
                                          • Four lines is worth 800 points.
                                          • Pausing
                                            • The game does not have a pause button shown by default, but clicking on the screen causes a pause button to appear in the center of the screen, which you can click on to pause the game.
                                            • After you pause the game the Play button may not work in some cases. When that happens you can resize the browser window to a different size then resize it back & the game will typically resume.
                                            • Strategy
                                              • Drop pieces with care.
                                                • Early in the game, you will be tempted to drop your pieces to form lines quickly.
                                                • You will likely use the regular game speed is you want to put a piece in a precise region or you want more thinking time.
                                                • Later in the game, the blocks fall fast enough for you to stop dropping altogether.
                                                • Think fast
                                                  • This game, like life, is like a literal box of chocolates. You’ll never know what you’re gonna get.
                                                  • You won’t always have the luxury of time to think things through slowly.
                                                  • Take advantage of the slower early game to plug in awkward holes in your pile. These require a bit of finesse to master.
                                                  • Take advantage of the Big Mouth. It can clear out any mistakes you’ve made while building the pile.
                                                    • If you have sloppiness on either side of the screen keep laying out of place pieces on that side until you can have Big Mouth come through and eat them.
                                                    • In the original Tetris you lost when a new piece could not descend into the playing field. On this game you lose any time a piece reaches the top of the playing field even if new pieces can still drop adjacently.
                                                    • On the right side the top 3 blocks are covered by the red design with the next piece & on the top left the top 2 blocks across 5 rows are covered with the score count. These places may still be used except for any piece in the very top row.
                                                    • Target Audience
                                                      • The game is suited for players who like games like Tetris.
                                                      • The game has no adult themed content.
