How to Play

Play Mahjong Connect 1 online for free. Mahjong Connect 1 is a 12-stage Mahjong Connect game where players match tiles using straight lines or lines that turn no more than twice while not passing through any other tiles. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the Play button on the welcome screen to start the game.
Near the Play button are buttons for how to play Help, High Scores, and More Games.
The lower left corner of the welcome screen has a language select dropdown.
The lower right corner of the language select screen offers buttons for social media sharing & reading game developer information.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click button to select a stone & then select a matching stone which can be connected using a line which does not pass through any other stones.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap the screen with a finger to select stones to match.
    - Controls & indicators
      - Across the top of the game it shows your level number, cumulative game score, and remaining level timer.
      - The right side at the top contains 5 buttons: pause game, hints (along with remaining hint count), sound control, music control, and full screen mode.
      - Game Play
        Stone matching
        Identical
        Most tile matches must be identical.
        Some flowers can match to other flower stones with different layouts.
        Line drawing
        Lines connecting stones may not pass through any other stones.
        The lines must either
        be straight vertical or horizontal lines, or
        have at most 2 right angle turns
        Levels
        This game has 12 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
        You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over from the first level.
        Time limits
        Stages gives you 3:09 to complete them.
        When you remove a tile pair from the stage it adds a few seconds to your remaining play time, up to a cap of 3:09.
        Initially you get 10 seconds added for each match, but the time added goes down as you progress through the levels.
        If you do not beat a level on time you fail the level. At that point you can either Try Again or End Game.
        Try Again offers unlimited continues.
        End Game allows you to submit your score, but erases your game progress.
        Stone layout
        Each level has 128 stones, consisting of a rectangle grid containing 8 rows and 16 columns.
        Stones partially obstruct the view of the stones in the row above them, but no stone is physically on top of another.
        Tile filling
        Different stages of this game behave in different ways when it comes to tile filling.
        The first stage fills down.
        Tiles in the second stage do not move.
        On the third stage the top half of the tiles fill upward & the bottom half fill downward.
        On the fourth stage the left half fills left while the right side fills right.
        Scoring
        Your game score is cumulative across levels.
        Scoring points
        You score 15 points for each tile pair you remove.
        Each second you have remaining on the level timer when you beat a level is worth 2 points.
        Spending points
        Each hint you use costs 5 points.
        You start the game with 6 hint credits.
        Each level you beat gives you another hint, up to a maximum carrying limit of 6.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like classic Mahjong Connect tile match games.
