Play Story-O-Meter online for free. Story-O-Meter is a random story prompt generator. Choose up to 8 randomly selected prompts to create the major plot elements of your next story. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the play button on the bottom right corner of the welcome screen to get started.
Game Controls
- Desktop

    - Tap on the buttons with your fingers to generate your story.
    - Controls and indicators
      - The question mark button on the top left opens the game’s help text.
      - The red button on the middle generates story elements.
      - Use the numbers on the right side of the screen to choose how many plot elements you can use.
      - Game Play
        To get started, press the big red button. This will generate an assortment of stories depending on the number of plot elements you choose.
        The plot elements are represented by pictures. Use these as story prompts to get you started.
        Expect the prompts to be very silly.
